AgroClima Consultores
Corporate website with a climate data dashboard for an agricultural weather consultancy in Lleida, manageable by the client without technical knowledge.
Academic project simulated as a complete professional commission, from proposal to delivery.
Goal
A corporate website the consultant can update without coding, with a climate data dashboard that is useful to farmers.
Problem it solves
The consultant needed to present their services, receive contact requests reliably and show the value of their weather stations, without depending on a developer to change text or photos.
Architecture diagram
- BrowserAstro · static pages with Svelte islands (charts and map)
- Vercel Functionscontact form and daily task
- ServicesSanity (content) · Supabase (requests) · Resend (notifications) · Turnstile (anti-spam)
Features
- 15 pages, including services, case studies, contact, legal pages and a blog ready to use.
- Climate data dashboard with three sample farms; the data is simulated but realistic for Lleida, and it is ready to connect to real stations.
- Agronomic indicators (evapotranspiration, dew point, leaf wetness hours, indicative downy mildew risk) and alerts with recommendations.
- Contact form that first stores the request and then sends an email notification, with a daily retry and spam protection.
- Content management in Spanish, simplified for a non-technical person; publishing rebuilds the site automatically.
- Custom logo and credited, freely licensed photos.
Technical challenges
- 01A non-technical clientSimplified content management, a step-by-step guide for desktop and mobile, and automatic publishing.
- 02Never losing a requestThe request is stored in the database first and the notification is sent afterwards; a daily task retries failed notifications and keeps the free database active.
- 03Performance with charts and a mapInteractive components that load only where needed; a layout shift in the dashboard was fixed (CLS from 0.32 to 0.02).
- 04Ready for real dataEvery data source returns the same format, so connecting real stations only requires a new source.
Current status
Finished and delivered as an exercise; demo version published. Mobile Lighthouse scores of 100 for performance, accessibility and best practices.
Future improvements
- Connect the dashboard to the real weather stations through the FieldClimate API, with a 10–15 minute cache.
- Launch the blog, which is already set up, with articles by the consultant.
